As a member of the national Scout Association, the Group’s aims are to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social ad spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The method of achieving this is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.
We aim to see the young people in our Group develop self reliance, self confidence, initiative, resourcefulness, moral character, team working and courage… while having fun!
The Scout Association asks that all members make and live by a promise that is appropriate to their age.
The Scout promise is:
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best, to do my duty to God
and to the Queen, to help other people and to keep the Scout Law.
Alternative versions of the promise can be taken by people who are Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Humanists with no affirmed faith.
